1. WHAT IS OUR VIEW ON PRIVACY?
Your satisfaction and trust in ATIS is of great importance to us. That is why we have established a privacy and security policy for customer data, which describes how we use your personal data. The main rules are based on seven principles.
2. HOW DO WE APPLY THIS POLICY TO OUR SERVICES?
Personal data: all information collected and recorded in a way that can personally identify you as a natural person. This may be directly, for example with your name, or indirectly via your phone number. Before providing us with this information, we advise you to read this policy. This privacy and security policy for customer data is part of the terms and conditions applicable to our services.
3. WHAT ARE OUR SEVEN PRINCIPLES FOR PROTECTING YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The seven principles below apply within ATIS:
- Transparency: when collecting and processing your personal data, we provide all relevant information and inform you of the purpose and recipients of the data.
- Relevance: we only collect and process your personal data for the purposes described in this policy.
- Necessity: we only collect personal data that is necessary for processing. We take all reasonable measures to ensure that the personal data we hold is accurate.
- Storage: we retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to process it, in accordance with legal requirements.
- Access, correction, and objection: you may access, modify, correct, or delete your personal data. You may also object to the use of your personal data, particularly to avoid receiving advertising and marketing communications. The relevant contact details are provided below (see “13. How to access your personal data?”).
- Confidentiality and security: we ensure reasonable technical and organizational measures are in place to protect your personal data against misuse, unlawful loss, or unauthorized use, disclosure, or access.
- Sharing and international transfer: we may share your personal data within the ATIS group or with third parties (such as business partners and/or service providers), only for the purposes described in this policy. We take appropriate measures to safeguard the security of data sharing and transfer.
4. WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE PROCESS?
We may need certain data from you, such as when requesting information or visiting our websites. In these cases, we may also use third parties who receive and process certain personal data on behalf of ATIS—for example, to send your confirmation, brochures, newsletters, personalized offers, or surveys.
Examples include:
a. Contact details (name, phone number, email address)
We may need to contact you, call you if there are questions, or send you messages.
Newsletters will also be sent via email if you subscribed. You may unsubscribe at any time by sending an email to marketing@atistelecom.nl.
b. IP addresses
We (or third parties on our behalf) may track your IP address to remember preferences, provide tailored advice, or use it for fraud protection.
5. WHEN IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED?
Personal data may be collected in various situations, including:
- Connecting to ATIS websites (IP address, cookies) or guest WiFi networks
- Online forms (contact forms, questionnaires, ATIS social media pages, network sign-ups such as Facebook, etc.)
6. FOR WHAT PURPOSES?
We collect your personal data for the following purposes:
a. To fulfill our obligations to customers.
b. To improve our services, particularly:
- Processing your personal data in our customer marketing program to carry out marketing activities, promotions, and better understand your needs
- Adapting our products and services to meet your requirements
- Analyzing interactions to improve customer support
- Personalizing commercial offers and marketing messages we send you
- Informing you about special offers and new ATIS services
c. To use trusted third parties to send you personalized offers based on collected data.
d. To improve ATIS services by conducting surveys, analyzing questionnaires, and managing complaints and feedback.
e. To secure and improve the use of ATIS websites, in particular:
- Improving navigation
- Implementing security measures and fraud prevention
f. To comply with local legislation (e.g., storing accounting records).
7. HOW AND WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
a. Within ATIS, authorized staff may access and share your personal data, including:
- IT departments
- Business partners and marketing agencies
- Legal services, if applicable
b. With service providers and partners: your personal data may be shared with third parties (e.g., IT subcontractors) for providing services or improving your experience, only for the purposes described here.
c. Local authorities: we may be required to share your data with local authorities if mandated by law or as part of investigations.
8. HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR DATA DURING (INTERNATIONAL) TRANSFER?
In accordance with article 7 of this policy, we may transfer your personal data to recipients located in countries with a different level of data protection. ATIS has taken appropriate measures to ensure safe internal transfers or transfers to external recipients in countries with different privacy standards.
9. HOW DO WE SECURE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
ATIS takes all appropriate technical and organizational measures, in line with legal requirements, to secure your personal data against misuse, unlawful loss, or unauthorized access. Measures include firewalls, file access monitoring, robust username/password systems, and physical security. In case of a data breach, we follow a proper reporting procedure.
We also require external processors to have proper contractual and organizational safeguards in place, ensuring they only process data for the purposes described here. We keep an up-to-date record of these third parties and what data they process on our behalf.
10. WHAT ARE THE LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING?
According to the law, personal data can be processed on several bases:
- A contract
- A legitimate interest of ATIS
- Consent
- A legal obligation
We mainly process your data in connection with information requests (contract basis). Additional interactions, such as reviews, marketing activities, and analysis, are processed under ATIS’s legitimate interest. Subscribing to a newsletter constitutes consent. In some cases, legal obligations apply (e.g., recording data in the night register).
11. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND HOW DO WE USE THEM?
ATIS and others use cookies to analyze websites, improve usability, provide social media, and display relevant offers.

12. HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
We store your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes of this policy or as required by applicable law.
13. HOW TO ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
You have the right to access your personal data collected by ATIS. Upon request, we will inform you whether and which data we process. You may request correction, addition, deletion, or restriction if data is inaccurate. This may affect the services we can provide.

14. HOW DO WE INFORM YOU ABOUT POLICY UPDATES?
We may update this policy from time to time. We advise you to consult it regularly via www.ATIS.nl/privacy. Updates will include a new date and a summary of changes.
