Description
The MC112CS is a media converter designed to convert 100BASE-FX fiber optic to 100Base-TX copper media or vice versa. By applying WDM technology, only half of the fiber optic cable is needed to send and receive data, saving you half the cable costs. Designed according to IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, the MC112CS is intended to be used with single-mode fiber optic cable that uses the SC-Type connector. The MC112CS supports long wavelength (LX) laser specifications with full fixed transmission rates. It operates at 1310nm for transmitting data and at 1550nm for receiving data. Therefore, the device on the other side that works with the MC112CS must operate at 1550nm for transmitting data and at 1310nm for receiving data. TP-LINK's media converter MC111CS, for example, can work with the MC112CS.
Other features of this module include the ability to be used as a standalone device (no frame required), Auto MDI/MDI-X for the TX port, and Auto negotiation of duplex mode.
